Ad Size Augmentation is a feature that automatically expands the list of ad sizes in an outgoing request to demand partners. This increases the probability of receiving a bid by allowing DSPs to respond with related, high-performing sizes that weren't originally in the SSP request.
The platform uses a predefined grouping system based on aspect ratios to determine which sizes to add.
Conditions for Activation:
1. Outgoing Request Logic
If at least one size from a predefined group appears in the incoming SSP request, the platform will append all other sizes from that group to the outgoing request sent to the DSP.
Example:
2. Size Selection in Response
When a DSP responds, the platform applies the following rules to select the final size:
Matched Size: If the size was in the original SSP request, it is passed back as-is.
DSP response 320x480 → Returned to SSP: 320x480.
Unmatched Size: If the size was not in the original request, the system returns the closest size by aspect ratio from the original SSP request.
DSP response 720x1280 → Returned to SSP: 320x480 (closest aspect ratio).
No Size Specified: If the DSP response lacks a size, the first size from the original SSP request is returned.
DSP response [none] → Returned to SSP: 320x480 (first size from SSP request).
